Zoe is able to advise individual clients on analysis and improvement of rations, whilst ensuring horses are supplied with all the nutrients they require, whatever the discipline.
As a referral nutritionist for several veterinary practices, Zoe provides nutritional advice to client’s nutrition related problems and helps to find practical solutions. A forage analysis service is also available (see nutritional services).
Zoe started working for a major international horse feed company as a qualified equine nutritionist in 1984. She spent many years giving nutrition and dietary advice to horse owners, studs, performance yards and individuals in addition to formulating and marketing new feeds.
As a well known author of several equine books, Zoe also writes regularly for various international equine magazines including Horse Magazine and Horse & Hound about horse nutrition and science.
She also works as an External Examiner of higher level courses in the United Kingdom up to degree level and sits on the panel of QAA academic reviewers. She has been involved in many validation panels for Higher Education equine courses, over the past 20 years.
Zoe works closely with numerous high profile and long term clients as a nutritionist specializing in bloodstock and she provides consultancy services to many major feed and supplement companies, studs and trainers through DLP Equine Consultants, with her business partner Deborah Lucas.
In addition Zoe is able to offer individual nutritional advice to horse owners and smaller yards, often saving clients money on their feed bills!
Zoe qualified as an equine nutritionist in 1984 after she graduated from Leeds university with a BSc(Hons) Animal Science and an MSc Equine Studies from UCW Aberystwyth.
As one of only a few Registered Equine Nutritionists (R.Nutr) with the Nutrition Society of Great Britain Zoe operates under a strict Code of Conduct. Only suitably scientifically qualified and experienced nutritionists are accepted on to this register.
